The Investment Building

The Historic Investment Building is a 1927 neo-classical skyscraper in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania located at 239 Fourth Avenue and part of the Fourth Avenue Historic District. Originally built as the Insurance Exchange Building, it was designed by Washington D.C., architect John M. Donn. It was constructed from limestone, and a darker, more textured brick the tower is noted for simplicity and lightness of form and detailing. The roof corner features a chamfered obelisk-like element unique in all of Pittsburgh.

The Investment Building is located adjacent to the PPG Complex and Market Square, the 21 story Investment Building is a high-rise that is also close to the amenities, which make the business day a bit easier to navigate. What the Business Class Client wants is a classic building that they can be proud of, professional management to service the needs of his business, a discounted rental rate, and to be left alone to make money!

The Business Class Floor offers the following:

  • Limited views.
  • Suite cleaning and trash removal to be completed by tenant. Trash to be placed in large containers provided by Landlord.
  • Landlord maintains all required cleaning in hallways and restrooms.

What is included?

  • A discounted rent structure.
  • New carpet and painting if required, ceiling work needed, lighting reconfiguration, demo of walls
  • Use of building Conference Rooms.

The Diamond Building

The Diamond Building, at Fifth and Liberty Avenues, is uniquely shaped as an irregular pentagon, one of the many buildings forced into odd shapes by the colliding property grids along Liberty Avenue. It is a magnificent example of a standard beaux-arts tower, with base, shaft, and cap, and an exuberant bronze cornice at the very top. The building was designed by MacClure and Spahr, a Pittsburgh firm that gave us several other distinguished buildings, including the Union National Bank building on Fourth Avenue.

The Diamond Building is steps away from the T-station, Fifth Avenue Place, Gateway Center and the CNG Tower and is surrounded by restaurants, retail establishments and lodging.

Boston-trained architects MacClure and Spahr established their Pittsburgh firm in 1901 – Keystone Bank Building – at what is now known as The Tech Center (322 Fourth Ave.) The Keystone Bank made its headquarters inside the walls of this Magnificent Building. J.J. Vandergrift (1827–99), the famous Pittsburgh riverboat captain and oil magnate, was president of Keystone Bank and a founder of the Pittsburgh Stock Exchange. Vandergift also held his office in the building.
