Parking for Cleveland Browns Games: Tips, Tricks, and Knowing Where to Go

Cleveland sign

It’s game day in the 216 and you’re ready to go cheer on the Browns, but finding Browns game parking is a nightmare that no one wants to deal with.

Thankfully, if you do your homework and use some advice from our team at E.V. Bishoff, you’ll know exactly where to go before heading to Huntington Bank Field.

5 Things to Sort Out Before You Leave the House

1. Park and Walk

💡 Parking is a tradeoff. The more you pay, the closer you get to the stadium.

If you’re willing to walk 15–20 minutes from where you park to the field, you’ll find better deals. And, that distance gets you a little further from all the foot traffic that congests the streets immediately after the game.

2. Reserve a Spot in Advance

Many of the parking lots and garages offer parking passes that can be bought in advance. Reserving a spot before game day arrives can give you peace of mind, letting you know you have a space saved and an exact location to head to.

3. Check Out Tailgating Options

Half of the fun of the game is tailgating beforehand. Before you commit to a parking spot, check out if they have dedicated tailgate parking and how early they open. The last thing you want is to show up early only to find out the lot isn’t open yet and they don’t allow tailgates.

4. Be Aware of Road Closures

Road closures start around 3 hours before kickoff and typically involve the West 3rd and East 9th exits off Route 2 (Shoreway) closing.

⚠️ Road closure details are subject to change, so it’s important to stay updated to ensure a smooth arrival at your parking space before the Browns game.

5. Going to Multiple Games? Get a Pass Bundle

If you’re planning on going to multiple games, you might be able to purchase parking passes in a bundle at a discounted rate. And once you’ve planned ahead for future game day parking and saved a little money, you can use it buy a new Browns jersey!

Muni Lot – 1500 S Marginal Rd

The Muni Lot is known for its iconic tailgates before games, but those come at a cost. A space usually costs around $40 cash, and the lot opens at 5 a.m. to get the party started.

❌ The downside is it’s a very crowded lot that has a long line to get into if you aren’t waking up bright and early. It also takes a long time to get out of after the game.

Downtown Garages and Reserve-Ahead Apps

These options tend to be more affordable, running around $10–$30 and a 10–15-minute walk from Huntington Bank Field. The benefit is that you can book your spot early, but you’ll be bidding on a lot that you don’t get to see until after you book it.

The No Driving Option: The RTA Rail

The RTA Rapid Transit system has four primary lines running through downtown Cleveland. The stop is about a 15-minute walk from the stadium, but you will be competing for space on the rail with everyone else leaving at the same time and you can’t tailgate.

If you’re looking for an affordable parking option for Cleveland Browns games, where you can still tailgate like you’re at the Muni Lot but without the early morning and long line, there may be a better choice for you.

The Smart Pick: Hamilton Garage

The Hamilton Garage (1277 Hamilton Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44114)
